Description

The Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) was founded in 1998 to foster integrated water resources management which is defined as the coordinated development and management of water, land, and related resources in order to maximise economic and social welfare without compromising the sustainability of vital environmental systems.
The GWP CEE region, covered by the Global Water Partnership, is located in two major catchment basins – rivers that drain into the Baltic Sea and those that drain into the Black Sea. Its governance structure comprises Partners, Country Water Partnerships, a Regional Council and the Secretariat, based in Bratislava.
