Description

ScienceUs, an Horizon Europe 3 years project, supports and scales up promising citizen science initiatives related to climate change adaptation and sustainability. It strengthens collaboration between citizens, researchers, public authorities and industry to increase the impact, visibility, and transferability of citizen-generated knowledge across Europe.

Objectives:

·  Build a European network of climate-related citizen science initiatives.

·  Provide targeted support (training, mentoring, networking, funding guidance).

·  Promote scalable and replicable practices for climate adaptation.

Produce tools, methodologies and policy recommendations.

The project runs in three phases:

1. SEED: Selection of promising ongoing initiatives.

2. FLOURISH: Intensive support and capacity-building.

3. HARVEST: Testing scalability and producing lessons learned for policymakers.

Among the expected results there are : enhanced citizen participation in climate adaptation; scalable models and best practices; training materials and toolkits; stronger links between communities and policymakers; policy briefs to support EU and regional adaptation strategies.
