Regions4Climate (R4C)

Description:

The Regions4Climate (R4C) project addresses the escalating impact of climate change on extreme weather events and aims to build resilient communities and a socially-just transition by integrating best practices and innovations. Focusing on European regions and communities, the project seeks to develop innovative tools and collaborative practices for the creation and implementation of resilience plans. These plans explicitly address social, environmental, and economic innovations while prioritizing social equity and justice concerns associated with resilience building. R4C employs system dynamic modeling to comprehend relationships and trade-offs among various resilience innovations, supporting regions and communities in their efforts to withstand climate change impacts. The project aims to bridge knowledge deficits, uncertainties, and science-policy-stakeholder gaps, providing evidence-based risk analyses and decision-making tools. Ultimately, R4C aims to empower European regions to develop their resilience plans and transformative adaptation pathways.
