Description

SAFERPLACES project aims to support better informed flood hazard and risk evaluation by further development and demonstration of an efficient and scalable risk mapping and assessment service for urban areas. In addition, the projects aims to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialog and identification of suitable strategies for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. New business opportunities, and financial and economic incentives for behavioral and land-use changes, are identified. The service provides an analysis of the current and future risks and produces a spatially explicit economic assessment of flood impacts.
