Description

STAR-FLOOD is a FP7 project that has focused on flood risk governance. The project investigated strategies for dealing with flood risk in 18 vulnerable urban regions in six European countries: Belgium, England, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden. The result of the project is a better understanding of flood risk governance arrangements that are most suitable for different European regions. The report includes an analysis of flood risk governance in Europe, explanations of the different drivers and barriers of the large diversity of flood risk management strategies between European countries, as well as mechanisms that facilitate linkages to overcome fragmentation.
