This briefing explains why health is at the heart of the climate change crisis, with a highlight on the threats caused by heat and infectious diseases. It also presents some of the milestones of health sector engagement on climate between 2007 and 2022. In addition, a survey among 500+ health professionals provides insights on awareness on climate change and health, with a focus on Turkey. Finally, the briefing formulates recommendations for the engagement of health sector in Turkey and in the wider European region.
