Description

The focus in this paper is put on the formulation of climate change impacts in relation to concrete sectors (Fishery, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Biodiversity) and policies which have an impact on the Baltic Sea and the coastal zone at the state (countries) level. It points out already existing adaptation measures, their possible application elsewhere as well as the biggest gaps. For that (i) cause-effect relationships between climate change parameters (sea level rise, atmospheric temperatures, ocean temperatures, precipitation, wind regimes, etc.) and impacts on environment and sectors, resulting in economic losses or gains, are defined, (ii) needs for specific research projects and policy responses justified, and (iii) gaps in policy development identified.
