Description

Global warming increases or creates new health risks from global transport. The spread of pathogens and vectors by international travel and transport of goods has long been acknowledged. However, increasing average temperature and loss of frost are supposed to expand the habitable area for cold-sensitive pathogens / vectors. This 2014 Report by Public Health England identifies such novel, cross-border health threats and surveys current preparedness and capability to address those hazards. The report concludes with ten key recommendations to build know-how and adaptation capacity.
