Description

In the policy brief the results of the CLICO project (Climate Change, Hydro-conflicts and Human Security) have been summarized for policy makers.

The first part is dedicated to the description of the relevance of climate change as a driver affecting human security. Based on several case studies in the Nile basin (Sudan/Egypt), the Sarno floodplain (Italy) and the Ebro Delta (Spain) it is shown whether human security was improved by adaptation measures or not. In the main part the policy brief includes recommendations how to successfully support human security by state-led adaptation planning and measures. In addition helpful contacts to research institutions working on these topics have been listed.
