From Davos to Copenhagen and Beyond: Advancing Tourism’s Response to Climate Change

Tourism and travel is one of the largest global economic sectors and is a significant contributor to many national and local economies around the world. With its close relationship to the environment and climate, tourism and travel is considered to be a highly climate‐sensitive economic sector. Regardless of their relative vulnerability to climate change, all tourism and travel businesses and destinations will need to adapt to climate change in order to minimize associated risks or capitalize upon new opportunities, in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner.
