Tracking climate finance at the global, national or local levels allows decision makers to understand what climate-relevant investments are being made, what the gaps, needs and opportunities are, and ultimately helps establish which public and private interventions can deliver climate actions most efficiently. In October 2016, the UNFCCC has published its second Biennial Assessment and Overview of Climate Finance Flows (BA). To inform this important exercise, CPI has reviewed climate finance flows for the years 2013 and 2014, as previously reported in their 2014 and 2015 Global Landscape of Climate Finance reports.
