How does Europe link DRR and CCA?

Description

The Working paper of the Euroean Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR) "How does Europe link DRR and CCA" summarizes results of the Working Group on Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR),established in 2011.

The report summarizes the key findings of a survey of HFA (Hyogo Framwork for Action) focal points and National DRR platform coordinators in 43 countries. It provides the basis for policy discussions and suggestions to the work of the European Forum for Disaster risk reduction (EFDRR) towards its work on climate change adaptation. It provides scientific background information to be taken in consideration by practioners when implementing DRR and CCA projects. Examples from Poland, Norway and France illustrate how to link in practical terms efforts in DRR with CCA. Specific recommentations are given to member countries and international organisations to strenghten the link between both policy fields.
