Making the energy sector more resilient to climate change

Description

The International Energy Agency and the OECD have prepared the report with regard to COP 21 that took place in Paris in 2015. The target group of the report are energy sector stakeholders, including governments, regulators, utilities/energy companies and financial institutions. The report describes the multiple adaptation challenges of the energy sector and has summarized relevant actions.

The report concludes that climate change can disrupt the supply of energy and is expected to alter demand patterns and to damage the infrastructure. In particular the electricity and fuel supply systems are vulnerable. Collaboration between business and government is needed to implement the adaptation challenges.
