The National Climate Change Strategy (2008-2025) identifies the directions for Hungary's climate policy. Key elements of the document include Hungary's compliance with the international obligations to combat climate change, emissions' reduction, adaptation to climate change and an overview of the tasks to assist the implementation of the strategy objectives. The chapter on climate change adaptation, entitled "Adaptation to the Changing Climate" (Ch. 4), is focused on nature conservation (natural fauna and flora); human environment and human health; agriculture and forestry; water management; regional development, regional planning, settlement development, settlement planning and built environment. The extension of this chapter is suggested for the revised Strategy, to include additional sectors, particulartly tourism, security policy and urban planning.
