The Green Central Banking Scorecard: 2022 Edition

Description

The 2022 Green Central Banking Scorecard updates Positive Money's ranking of G20 central banks and prudential regulators based on their environmental credentials to show which countries are leading the way, and which are falling behind.

The report showcases the complex environment in which central banks are operating, having to manage multiple crisis at the same time. Still, they are not able to use all the tools at their disposal to deal with acute physical impacts of climate change and the overshadowing global inflation.

Positive Money ranks different countries according to their green monetary and financial policies and identifies leaders and laggards. In addition, the publication provides key recommendations in the areas of: Research and advocacy, monetary policy, financial regulation and leading by example.
