The Tool “Effectiveness of Flood Management Measures” gives an overview of different methods to assess the effectiveness of flood management measures, including both those aimed to preparedness for and to prevention of floods. Among the various procedures available, the principles and practices of auditing and evaluation are recommended to monitor and appraise the well-functioning of systems of governance, including risk management, operational performance and financial control.
