Effectiveness of Flood Management Measures
Description
The Tool “Effectiveness of Flood Management Measures” gives an overview of different methods to assess the effectiveness of flood management measures, including both those aimed to preparedness for and to prevention of floods. Among the various procedures available, the principles and practices of auditing and evaluation are recommended to monitor and appraise the well-functioning of systems of governance, including risk management, operational performance and financial control. In other words, these methodologies allow to determine the reliability of financial information, the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, the safety of assets, and compliance with laws and regulations.
In addition to this, the evaluation addresses the balance between preparedness and prevention measures, while at the same time considering their integration into (and contribution to) climate change adaptation policies.
