CLIMOS project explainer video on sand fly-borne diseases and their relation to climate change

This video explains the relevance of the CLIMOS (Climate Monitoring and Decision Support Framework for Sand Fly-borne Diseases Detection and Mitigation with Cost-benefit and Climate-policy Measures) project in tackling an important vector-borne diseases transmission system susceptible to climate and environmental changes.

The CLIMOS project, funded under the Horizon Europe programme, aims to assist mitigation of climate- and climate change-induced emergence, transmission and spread of sand fly-borne diseases, as a model for other common vector-borne and zoonotic pathogens, based on eco-health and One Health approaches.

The project aims to develop an Early Warning System (EWS), a decision support framework for more accurate climate and health modelling, prognosis of infection risk and range expansions, and adaptation options (including socio-economic cost-benefit evaluations), an open access interactive online data platform, and educational resources.
