Objective of the funding programme

The EU Just Transition Fund, with combined EU and national funding of up to €169 million to 2027, will support Irish initiatives in the following key areas:

  • Bioeconomy demonstration initiatives

  • Peatland restoration

  • Carbon farming and catchment projects

  • Sustainable transport, including electric buses in the Midlands
