Objective of the funding programme

The LIFE4ADAPT project supports the implementation of Slovenia’s 2016 Strategic Framework on Climate Change Adaptation by providing knowledge, data, and expert resources to guide policies and measures. It strengthens institutional capacity and stakeholder cooperation, accelerates planning and implementation of adaptation actions in regions and municipalities (including through enhanced climate office activities) and establishes systems for monitoring, evaluation, communication, and training. The project also implements pilot adaptation measures that are replicable, contribute to sustainable development, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve biodiversity, and enhance social resilience, while mobilising complementary funding. Activities include pilot demonstration projects across Slovenia and funding for innovative adaptation initiatives through local contests and awards.
