In this online session, experts Anne Sophie Gresle and Frederic Bartumeus will explore how participatory research and citizen science empowers the public to contribute to disease surveillance and prevention. From a conceptual perspective, Anne Sophie Gresle will discuss how to facilitate and incorporate the experiences of individuals into the different steps of the research cycle. Frederic Bartumeus will provide a case study showing how citizen-driven data linked to mosquito-borne diseases of significance can be used to anticipate environmental changes and health risks.
