Global Health Film Days is organised by the University of Copenhagen’s School of Global Health and Cinemateket, The Danish Film Institute. The festival is supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

This year’s festival is centred around the theme “Emerging”  exploring what becomes visible in moments of rupture, from the fragility of health systems and the impacts of climate change, to displacement, conflict, and the reconfiguration of global health itself. Through film and discussion, we aim to create space for reflection on how communities respond, reorganise, and imagine new futures in times of uncertainty.

The programme features documentaries addressing pressing issues such as health misinformation (Shot in the Arm), migrant search and rescue (Desert Angel), Indigenous food sovereignty (The Spirit Who Swims), climate displacement (Climate Refugees), resilience and memory (There Was, There Was Not), frontline healthcare in conflict settings (Cuba & Alaska), and emerging pandemic threats (Spillover). Each screening is followed by a panel discussion bringing together researchers, practitioners, and community voices.

The film days will take place at Cinemateket in Copenhagen.
