International online course on Health and Environment

This course for health professionals, organized by the Portuguese Council for Health and Environment, in partnership with the Portuguese National School of Public Health and international organizations, aims to provide participants with a better understanding of the main environmental determinants of the future population health - including climate change, effective mitigation and adaptation measures, ways to reduce the ecological footprint of the healthcare sector and to make health systems more resilient to these changes, and the responsibility of health professionals in this fight.

The objective of the course is to increase awareness about this tremendous challenge among all health professionals, from students to decision-makers, at a world level, and enable them to become more involved and lead the common effort to ensure a future with a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.

The online course is organized as 12 synchronous weekly sessions on Tuesday from 18:00 h to 19:30 h (CEST) between 2 April and 18 June 2024. Each session consists of three-four interventions by experts followed by an interactive discussion. The course will be available in English with the possibility of translation to Spanish and Portuguese.
