The EU strategy on adaptation to climate change, adopted in 2013 by the European Commission, sets out a framework and mechanisms for enhancing the EU's preparedness for current and future climate impacts.

The EU strategy focuses on three key objectives, which are complementary to countries activities: promoting and supporting adaptation in Member States,  'climate-proofing' EU policies by ensuring that adaptation considerations are addressed in all relevant sectors, and contributing to informed adaptation decision-making.

This section includes adaptation information and a variety of tools and methods to support adaptation policy and decision-making by European stakeholders.
