Description

The Urban Audit provides European urban statistics for cities across 27 European countries.  It contains almost 300 statistical indicators presenting information on matters such as socioeconomic and demographic data wich can provide indications regarding the adaptive capacity of cities.

After a pilot in 1999, the first full-scale European Urban Audit took place in 2003 for the then 15 countries of the European Union. In 2004, the project was extended to the 10 new Member States plus Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey (25 EU countries). These were followed by 2006/07, 2009 and 2011 data collections. The scope has broadened to 329 variables for up to 323 European Union cities and 47 cities in Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Croatia.
