World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)
Description:
WOAH is the global authority on animal health; it is an intergovernmental organisation founded in 1924. It focuses on transparently disseminating information on animal diseases, improving animal health globally and thus building a safer, healthier and more sustainable world. WOAH implements policies aimed at helping its Member Countries to be better prepared for the consequences of intensified animal production.
WOAH advocates new action at the level of research, national capacity building for public and private sector on animal health systems and communication, with the aim of preventing or reducing the effects of climate change on animal production and diseases, including those transmissible to humans.
