Description

The Knowledge Portal for Climate Adaptation is the main source of information for anyone engaged in climate adaptation in The Netherlands. It features practical guidance and tools, inspiring examples, knowledge syntheses, a library with reports and research, and the latest news. One of the most important tools is the Climate Effect Atlas. It provides an initial impression of possible future threats of flooding, waterlogging, drought and heat in the Netherlands. Via the Helpdesk users can get free GIS-data from the maps in the Climate Effect Atlas. Also, users can send their questions about the Knowledge Portal or general questions about climate adaptation to the Helpdesk.

The Portal has around 600 daily visitors. It is updated continuously in close collaboration with users, knowledge institutes and consultancies. And through the strong links with national policies and programmes on adaptation, the portal supports the implementation of the Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation and the National Adaptation Strategy.

The Knowledge Portal for Climate Adaptation has been operational since 2014 and is managed and maintained by Climate Adaptation Services (CAS), under the authority of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. Published information is available in both English and Dutch.
