Description

The main objective of the IBAM project is to create an environmental decision model for the Gulf of Finland. The model will be used to rank decision options in an interdisciplinary and multiobjective context. It integrates risk management of five themes: fisheries, eutrophication, oil spills, dioxin risks related to the consumption of herring, and climate change. It will also include uncertainty in human responses to management, and will be used to rank decision options in an interdisciplinary and multiobjective context. The information gained from the project is important for policymakers and managers who are responsible for the management actions of the Baltic Sea. Moreover, the other scientists can use the outcomes of the IBAM project in their own risk analyses as prior information.
