Delivering Urban Resilience

Description

This report provides an in-depth analysis of the costs and benefits of applying a set of smart surface solutions, including cool roofs, green roofs, solar PV, permeable and reflective pavements, and road surfaces across three cities in the US. The report demonstrates that cities can strengthen resilience, improve health and comfort, expand jobs and slow global warming through smart surface strategies, while securing billions of dollars in net financial benefits. Although focusing on cities in the United States, it provides general knowledge of the types and scales of costs and benefits smart surface solutions can provide in any urban area, as well as insights in cost-benefit assessment methodology for this type of adaptation measures applied in cities.
