ENBEL briefing: Health-focused climate finance for local adaptation
Description
Adaptation that will reduce the health impacts of climate change needs financial support. In its briefing, ENBEL, a European project aimed at connecting health and climate change research, identifies that allocation of adaptation finance to the health sector is low in contrast to what is needed to ensure climate-resilient health systems and support countries to implement Health National Adaptation Plans (HNAPs). Important barriers include limited information on funding opportunities, little coordination between actors within the health sector and between the health and climate change community, and limited capacity to develop proposals for funding.
ENBEL's policy briefs can be consulted at their website.
