EuroHEAT online heatwave forecast
Description
Project EuroHEAT quantified the health effects of heat in European cities and identified options for improving health systems’ preparedness for and response to the effects of heat-waves. The project, running from 2005 to 2007, was coordinated by WHO/Europe and co-funded by the European Commission (EC) Directorate-General for Health and Consumers.
The online heatwave forecast is one of the project’s outputs. It displays daily forecasts of heatwave probability (0–100 %) per NUTS1-Region for the upcoming ten days in a colour-coded map. The tool also links to national heat/health warning systems (HHWS) which it is intended to complement, not to replace.
