MEDIATION: Synthesis Brochure: MEDIATION and the Adaptation Challenge
Description
The EU FP7 funded research project MEDIATION aimed to guide researchers, policy advisors and experts to suitable climate change adaptation methods and tools for a wide range of questions and from various disciplines and perspectives. The project involved 11 partners and 11 case studies over the whole area of Europe. To enable easy access to the project results a synthesis brochure "MEDIATION and the Adaptation Challenge - Identifying appropriate methods and tools to support climate change adaptation decision making" has been published. The synthesis brochure contains descriptions:
- of the challenges connected with decision making on adaptation to climate change and the resulting research questions;
- of the EU policy context; of the main results (MEDIATION Adaptation Platform with MEDIATION Toolbox, MEDIATION Adaptation Pathfinder and MEDIATION Case Study Navigator;
- of the results of selected case studies (River Rhine, Forest Fires in Europe, wine production in Tuscany region, Biodiversity in Finnland, Agriculture in Spain);
- of methodologies for assessing the costs and benefits of adaptation; and
