Information from Governance Regulation reporting on adaptation (2023)

The health sector is addressed in Adaptation to climate change in Switzerland - First part of the Federal Council’s strategy (NAS, 2021), as well as the Adaptation to climate change in Switzerland: Action Plan 2020-2025 (NAP, 2020), which comprises measures at federal level, to improve the knowledge base, transfer knowledge, coordinate and promote the implementation of the adaptation strategy. Climate-related risks and opportunities (CRA, 2017) also includes the health sector.
National policies on climate change adaptation and national health strategies were analysed to identify the coverage of climate-related impacts on health (physical, mental, and social) and the types of interventions addressing them. The report provides a European overview, while the geographical coverage of various aspects of national policies across Europe can be visualized using the map viewer. The results for Switzerland are summarised here.
