Agglomeration-scale urban climate and air quality projections
Description
The report describes the methods used to generate urban climate and air quality projections, and their results for several chosen cities. It was found overall and consistently wihtin the city sample considered that urban areas experience twice as many heatwave days than their rural surroundings. It was also found that toward the end of the century, the number of heatwave days is expected to increase by a factor of nearly ten. Cities in Central and Eastern Europe are especially at risk of enchanced heat stress.
