Getting Serious About Climate Adaptation and Resilience: Views from the Mission

The climate crisis is no longer a distant concern—it’s here, and its impacts are intensifying. While reducing greenhouse gas emissions is essential, global warming and its effects will continue to grow, even if we achieve net zero tomorrow.

Elina Bardram, DG CLIMA’s Director for Adaptation & Resilience and Adaptation Mission Manager, celebrates three years of progress as the Adaptation Mission leads the EU’s efforts to help regions and communities build resilience against extreme weather and other climate change-related issues. The Mission and its 311 Charter Signatories have become a driving force for local and regional adaptation; fostering innovation, piloting solutions, and enhancing preparedness for the challenges ahead.
