The latest outputs from the Mission Adaptation Community of Practice Thematic Working Groups highlight how cities and regions can strengthen their climate resilience through more integrated approaches and inclusive engagement.

Developed by the Thematic Working Group on Integrating Mitigation and Adaptation, a new Position Paper explores how to better align climate mitigation and adaptation at local and regional levels. Drawing on a series of workshops and continued collaboration, the paper presents common challenges, identifies opportunities for greater synergies between the EU’s Missions on Cities and Adaptation, and offers recommendations for more joined-up climate planning and funding.

Meanwhile, the Thematic Working Group on Citizen and Stakeholder Engagement has published a Briefing Note focusing on the use of knowledge exchange platforms to improve engagement in climate adaptation. It shares lessons learned from European projects and presents seven case studies showcasing diverse approaches to involving citizens and stakeholders across regions. The note also highlights practical tools and methods to support local and regional authorities.

These new resources form part of the Mission’s growing knowledge base and are designed to support the broader community of practice in advancing climate resilience on the ground.
