Reacting on the growing risk for wildfires in Europe, Climate-ADAPT is now presenting a pool of different measures to prevent, manage and recover from climate change induced wildfires.
Climate-ADAPT does now also offer a package of case studies to illustrate those generic adaptation options. The case studies showcase lessons learnt from inspiring examples to manage wildfires for various land use types in different areas of Europe and using approaches at national and subnational levels.
Case studies showcase:
- Managing the increasing risk of wildfires in a changing climate, Sweden
- Prescribed fire and grazing as integrated approach to make forests climate resilient in Viseu Dão Lafões, Portugal
- Building fire resilience using recycled water in Riba-Roja de Túria, Spain
- Addressing the impacts of urban heatwaves and forest fires with alert measures in Tatabánya, Hungary
- Financial contributions of planning applications to prevention of heathland fires in Dorset, UK
- CALCHAS - An integrated analysis system for the effective fire conservancy of forests, Spain
