Overheated and underprepared: Europeans' experience of living with climate change
This report was jointly developed by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) and is based on the findings from an online survey. It explores the experiences of climate-related impacts, resilience actions taken at home, the perception of local actions implemented, and concerns about future impacts among European citizens.

Organised by Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Europe, CleanMed Europe brings together professionals from healthcare, sustainability, industry, research, and civil society each year to advance low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable health systems.
Environmental and climate-related risks are increasingly affecting people’s health and wellbeing across Europe, from air and water pollution to heatwaves, floods, chemical exposure and pressures on health and care systems. Regions and cities are at the forefront of addressing these challenges, translating environmental and climate policies into concrete prevention, resilience and public health measures. This event seeks to explore the links between environmental action, climate resilience and health outcomes, with a focus on the territorial dimension and the role of regions in protecting citizens’ wellbeing. It will also connect to the forthcoming Committee of the Regions opinion on the Environmental Implementation Review, bringing forward regional health perspectives on how stronger environmental implementation can improve public health outcomes, support prevention, reduce inequalities and strengthen resilient communities.
For its 60th anniversary, the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) will convene the 1st European Congress on Education and Training in Public Health. The Congress aims to build upon and expand ASPHER’s long-standing mission: to strengthen the capacity and quality of public health education and to ensure that future generations of professionals are prepared to face evolving challenges.
The EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis, established in 2023, serves as an annual occasion to honour those affected – both within Europe and globally – while promoting concrete measures to better manage climate risks and prevent and respond to climate-related disasters. This year, we will mark the fourth observance of the Day with a high-level panel discussion focused on strengthening resilience, protecting communities and advancing proactive strategies to address extreme weather events.
Main theme “Understanding and Responding to Global and Local Challenges: Environmental Epidemiology in a Changing World”
The BlueAdapt Final Conference will facilitate dialogue between researchers, policymakers and civil society to explore ways to transform project results into action – from local to EU level – to protect coastal communities and improve integration between environmental, climate, and health policies.
