Information fromThe public health sector is included in the sectoral vulnerability and risk assessment study for heat wave, drought and heavy precipitation in scope of the project Enhancing Adaptation Action in Türkiye.
Public health is a priority sector that also will be covered in Türkiye’s National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan (currently being updated to cover 2023-2030).
An example of an effort to integrate climate change adaptation into health sectoral policies, plans and programs is the National Program and Action Plan for Mitigating the Negative Impacts of Climate Change on Health.
Climate change and health: the national policy overview in Europe (2022)
Information from EEA report.National policies on climate change adaptation and national health strategies were analysed to identify the coverage of climate-related impacts on health (physical, mental, and social) and the types of interventions addressing them. The report provides a European overview, while the geographical coverage of various aspects of national policies across Europe can be visualized using the map viewer. The results for Türkiye are summarised here.
