Baltadapt Report #7: Conceptualization of Vulnerability and Review of Assessments around the Baltic Sea Region

Description

This report serves as the knowledge base in the Baltadapt project of climate change vulnerability whithin the sectors of tourism, infrastructure, food and biodiversity in the Baltic Sea Region. The report has made a review of already existing vulnerability assessments within the Baltic Sea Region. The main message of the report is that vulnerability assessments per se whithin these specific sectors is not that common in the Baltic Sea Region. Particularly the assessment of adaptive capacity is often missing in the reports and assessments found. This report also inform the Baltadapt project with a concept of climate change vulnerability to be utilized in the Macro-regional climate change strategy, which is the main outcome of the Baltadapt project. This vulnerability concept follows the conceptualization made by the IPCC and emphasises the importance of an integrated approach to vulnerability assessments. (Source: Baltadapt)
