Description
This report captures the most pertinent environmental problems with a direct influence on people's health and well-being and their policy implications, as identified and addressed in on-going work at the JRC and EEA.
Part I of the report discusses the evolving understanding of environmental and health relationships, from focusing on isolated, specific issues, towards increasing recognition of highly complex, multifactorial interdependencies.
Part II of the report presents 11 thematic chapters, addressing several environmental issues, including climate change, which, currently and in the future, are likely to affect human health and well-being in Europe.
Finally, Part III reflects on the future, highlighting a need for a broader framing of environment, health and well-being issues.
