Helsinki Metropolitan Area Climate Change. Adaptation Strategy
Description
The Helsinki metropolitan area adaptation strategy is prepared jointly by the region’s cities, municipal federations and other organisations. It focuses on the urban environment and the built environment. It reports policy guidelines and shorter-term policies (2012–2020).
The aim is to assess the consequences of climate change on the region, to prepare for the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events and to reduce the vulnerability of the region to climate variation and change, in order to safeguard the well-being of the region’s inhabitants and the functioning of the cities even in changing conditions.
