Hungarian national adaptation platform substantially upgraded
The Hungarian national Adaptation GeoInformation System (NAGiS) was substantially enlarged since its first development phase. It provides now access to a Local Adaptation Decision-support Application and to a Settlement-level Adaptation Barometer for assessing adaptation needs at settlement level. It provides numerous guidelines such as a methodology for a complex vulnerability assessment as well as solutions for adaptation in selected policy sectors such as on adaptation in Hungarian tourist destinations. In the near future the macro-regional extension of the system is planned.

REGILIENCE Open Training Session on the EU resilience landscape
The EU funded REGILIENCE project provides a first Open Training Session (OTS) of its series of capacity-building events for regional actors working on adaptation to climate change. The session focuses on the EU resilience landscape and explores highly innovative EU initiatives and projects. It will provide guidance on where to get support with respect to current regional challenges and needs and highlight opportunities to boost regional climate resilience developments.

Webinar: Health impacts of heat and air pollution in a Nordic context
Global warming leads to increasing temperatures and extreme weather events, also in Nordic countries. This webinar addresses potential health effects of heat waves and increasing risk of wildfires, and assesses the level of preparedness in the Nordic countries. The webinar also presents findings of the EXHAUSTION project, which investigates the impacts of a combination of extreme heat and air pollution, its costs and potential coping strategies.

Urban Climate Adaptation: what tools could accelerate the uptake of Nature-Based Solutions in cities?
As part of the Adaptive Cities Through integrated Nature-based Solutions (ACT on NbS) project, funded by EIT-Climate KIC, researchers at Wageningen University & Research, Deltares and the University of Bologna, assessed the different challenges that cities experience in urban NbS implementation. They conducted structured interviews and workshops with municipalities, and reviewed available tools that support NbS uptake in urban areas.

Green Deal: EU invests over €110 million in LIFE projects for environment and climate in eleven EU countries
The European Commission announced an investment of over €110 million in LIFE programme integrated projects for environmental and climate protection. The funding will support major new environmental and climate projects in 11 EU countries: Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovenia. The projects contribute to a green recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and support the European Green Deal's objectives of making the EU climate neutral and pollution free by 2050.

The ICLEI World Congress 2021 – 2022: The Malmö Summit, will be held to exchange with and inspire one another on the best practices in local sustainable development, among others including adaptation aspects such as nature based solutions. The Malmö Summit will have three days of core programming for participants, featuring strategic high-level dialogues building on themes explored in 2021, as well as exciting technical visits, in-depth workshops and multiple networking opportunities especially suited for in-person participation.
