The EU 2022 wildfire season was the second worst on record
Last year, wildfires in 45 observed countries burnt an area about the size of Montenegro, hitting Natura 2000 protected sites hard. This year, France has already surpassed its annual average of fire-ravaged area.

16th European Public Health Conference 2023
The 16th EPHC has as main theme 'Our Food, Our Health, Our Earth : A Sustainable Future for Humanity'. This conference aims to open up a discussion on the future world in the context of climate emergency, with a focus on health and health care. Topics include among others gender and health, health care delivery, use of digital tools, and necessary staffing and skills to provide good care. The conference will look in depth at the climate emergency, and very specifically at the human food supply.

To equip local and regional authorities with the right measures to deal with the hazards of climate change, the Committee of the Regions has published the “Green Deal going local handbook”. It provides targeted guidance on financial aid and technical assistance in the field of adaptation.

Both the German Adaptation Strategy (Deutsche Anpassungsstrategie, DAS) and the DAS Progress Report formulate the promotion of private precautions as one of the aims of the participation processes for the further development and implementation of DAS by the German Federal Government. Specifically, DAS formulates the aim "mobilise individual initiative" and, the Progress Report, the "promotion of the initiative and voluntary commitment of stakeholders"

European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2021) - Rewatch the events
The 5th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference ‘Bringing adaptation solutions to life’, was held online. The theme of the conference was inspiring climate adaptation action today for a resilient future. A series of nine webinars was organised from 25 May to 10 June, in the run-up to a high-level event on 22 June.

How far are municipalities with the ⁠Adaptation to Climate Change⁠? To what extent does the German Climate Adaptation Strategy (⁠DAS⁠) support ⁠climate change adaptation⁠ in the cities and towns? The present study provides answers to these and other questions that were collected through a nationwide online survey. The results were deepened on the basis of a focus group discussion and supplementary expert interviews and prepared in recommendations from the municipalities for the further development of the DAS

Participatory workshop on the climate service for the wine sector
The H2020 funded MED-GOLD project aims to make European agriculture more resilient to climate change by developing climate services for three key Mediterranean crops. In this workshop, the dashboard tool will be showcased and discussion will be held on the potential usability of this tool in the wine sector.
